I have given gmat and score 640(V28,Q49) . I was aiming for Indian B schools such as ISB, SPJAIN, but options for abroad are also open. so now I have two choices :
1. Retake GMAT,
but in its not like I screwed up somethin in my exam, it went as it was expected . my verbal portion is weak but sometimes I scored 35 in mocks and sometimes 25 . Not sure how can I make it consistent.
2. Apply with this score.
But my family cannot support me financially for the entire amount. So I have take loan. So it would be great if I get the scholarship.

My profile:
1. 2 years of exp
2. 80-88% : in 10,12 and in UG
3. Current profile : software engineering
4. Current company : Amdocs

WE can talk about that score variation of yours.
The most probable reason could be that you aren't following a single approach and modifying it

Another thing that I need to know is that have you given all the official tests???
Are there any left??
And I can totally relate to the financing thing, but make sure that they won't say no after you've done so much hard work, coz then it would hurt as hell, but stay motivated. Anyone who can score a 640 can score a 700

I have given 2 officials gmat prep test, and i scored 670 on one but on the second one, u scored less because of some other reason..
And if I go for the retake, then the only thing I am concerned about is that till now I have solved most of the questions.. So i am familiar with those questions. So probably I will get those questions correct while practing.

I know, YOU can and I think must take access to online jamboree portal. They have badass questions, all official. I think it costs about 29-49 USD. Good thing is that you still have 4 official tests, you can buy those too. Revise from Material and Jamboree site and you'll be good

Hi Ayushima,
Congrats on your exam. In my opinion, I think you should consider retake except you don't have enough motivation to do that. It will be difficult if you are not determined to go for it and beat your target score. Anyway, I wish you all the best.

I agree with much of what has been said. I think that you should spend some time improving your verbal skills and retake the GMAT once you are truly ready to do so. If you need any advice on how to improve your verbal skills, feel free to reach out. Good luck!

I agree that you can try to retake gmat exam. I began my gmat journey with 620 (q49 v25). I then studied hard, learned OG thoroughly, and my latest score is 720 (q49 v40).

Nothing is impossible.

Such variation usually shows does show some glaring gaps in conceptual understanding.

A variation of 3-4 points is understandable, but a 10 point variation needs some serious introspection.
