Hai.

I am a Japanese businessman. I search for business school for cleantech career.

Haas, Fuqua and McCombs are strong in energy idustry, but which school is best for cleantech career?
And is it possible for me to go to these schools?

My personal data is...

Country: Japan
Age: 27
University: University of Tokyo (Top school in Japan)
Major: Human Geography
Career: Electric utility for 5 years (Power purchase department)
GMAT score: 680

After MBA, I return to the company and develop cleantech business.

If you know any other good schools, please recommend to me.

Hi hiyu and welcome to GMAT Club!

I feel any program that is focused on energy will have a clean tech segment. Much of the energy focus these days is on the renewable sources and things other than getting oil out. Having worked for Chevron myself, I can say there is somewhat of a stagnation in terms of MBA recruiting and in terms of positions in the traditional energy space for MBA grads. I feel all the growth is happening in the renewable and disruptive. Though your best shot is to check with adcom if they connect you with any of the current students (you can also check the student ambassador page many programs have that will list students and they will help answer your questions and even do calls if needed).

Hi hiyu,

I am also looking to do an MBA in cleantech. I think the choices that you have filtered are awesome. The best bet can be Haas as it's located in California. Stanford is also a very good choice if it is within your reach. You can also look at RSM, I have heard it also has a great program for cleantech.

We can also chat privately if you want so we can discuss application strategy.

It is a good idea to pool your resources as you are looking for connections at schools and comparing your notes and ideas (get to network even before the application kicks in). You may not attend the same program but may benefit from staying in touch during internship hunt or recruiting. It is likely that both of those will be off campus (meaning you will be hunting on your own without having employers come on campus)
