relationship between X and Y ~ is appropriate here because the two have conflicting ideas about the central issue: smoking.

"relationship between x and y" is the correct idiom .. so D .. but "jeopardizing their own health and that of others" .. is "own" really required here ... plz explain ... isn't it redundant ..

D for me "relationship b/w X and Y" and "relationship HAS"

D also has a correct and clear modifier

thats very odd because when i look at some optinons on thefreedictionary.com it gives

relationship of x with y

or

relationship between x and y
