Welcome to gmatclub..
For quant:
you can try the trial version of empowergmat, mathrevolution, target test prep, quantam gmat. They're fine so far i know. It is better to read the explanation which gets best kudos in quant and verbal official questions that are discussed in gmatclub.
How about your verbal score?
did the gmat hack's videos help you?

Hi I took my GMAT yesterday and scored 650. I did a little better in verbal than practice test and did worse in quant. My gmat prep practice test score were q48 & q46 for quant. Veritas and Kaplan consistently scored me at q45. However, in the real test i got 42. I need to get to atleast q48 to hit my target score. Can you please advise me the course of action i should take? I am planning to re take the gmat in 30 days.

I have used the OG for practicing quant and almost all the mocks including Veritas, Kaplan, Manhattan, Gmat Prep, Prep Scholar etc. I have read and practiced Manhattan books and seen videos of Gmat hacks. I did not prepare for Verbal at all since i was doing good in that section in mocks. I have invested almost 90 hours in quant. Can someone please guide me the approach i should take to fine tune my quant strategy?

Hi muqeetkhakwani,

I’m sorry to hear how things went with your GMAT. Since you scored Q42 on your exam, it’s a sign that you have numerous weak areas that were exposed on test day. Thus, to improve your quant skills, you need to follow a study plan that allows you to learn each GMAT quant topic individually and then practice each topic until you’ve gained mastery. Studying in such a way will allow you to methodically improve your quant skills and fill in knowledge gaps.

Regarding resources, as has been mentioned, since you need quant help, TTP would be a gamechanger for you. We are the top-rated quant course here on GMAT Club and offer a full-access, 5-day trial.

Feel free to reach out with further questions.

Good luck!

TTP Plus GMAT club math guide, gmat club tests, and official guide are the best resources by far i have found to improve in quant. I think you should give it a try, if you're good with concepts, gmat club tests alone might help you improve a lot

Hi muqeetkhakwani,

First off, a 650 is a solid score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. The Q42 might be seen as a 'red flag' at certain Programs though, so the plan to retest (with the goal of scoring significantly higher in the Quant section) makes sense.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied in total? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) Have you used any other study materials besides the ones that you listed?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

You might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
