Any collective noun, such as a company, class, etc. must be referred by a singular antecedent.

Error Analysis:

1. Plural word "they" incorrectly refers to singular word "Davenport Oil & Gas Company".
2. Twice the plural word "their" incorrectly refers to singular word "Davenport Oil & Gas Company".

Process of Elimination:

Option C is the only option that doesn't contain the errors pointed out above.

A company or any collective noun as such must be referred to as by a singular antecedent.
i.e. is/it/was should be used to refer to company/army/team/class etc..
Note - “a class” of students is singular
And “the classes” in school are plural.
It depends upon the usage of the collective noun, too.
So, be on the lookout.

With this understanding, and with a good reading eye,
We’re left with option C) here as
All others have “they” in it, as an antecedent, which refers to the noun “company”.

The Davenport and oil company has... Singular verb hence use of plural pronoun they is incorrect based on this eliminated A and B.

The option C, D and E correct the error by starting with it. The use of their is incorrect in both D and E.
