Hi guys, I'm a Brazilian BSc Economics student from one of Brazil's top Economics University (PUC-Rio), applying for MSc in Finance
- GPA: 7.2/10.0 (average for the course)
- GMAT: Will take on Monday (pray for the best, but in my mock tests I'm scoring in average of 700)
- TOEFL: 112
- CFA Research Challenge, Brazilian finalist
- Internship at multinational mining company (Vale S.A.)
How do you think are my chance? In Brazil we don't know a lot about European universities, it would sure mean a lot if you could help me assess my profile. Also, here our BSc takes 4 years.
Thanks!
Hi
jrrs,
So how did your GMAT go
The rest of the profile is pretty decent, GPA is fair, CFA is interesting.
But European schools look for holistic applications - Extra-Curriculars, Achievements during work ex, international experience, etc.
To shortlist some schools for your profile, I would need more information on -
- UG Rank ( Would be important for Tier-1 European Schools like HEC Paris)
- Extra-curricular Profile ( College activities, Social volunteering, Sports,etc)
- Details about your work ex (Company names, Key responsibilities ,etc)
Also, being from Brazil - This would add some ethnicity points to your profile as EU Schools are looking to include diverse nationalities to their class profile.
The best European Schools that you can look at are
HEC Paris ( Dream)
ESSEC, ESCP, RSM, IE ( Upper competitive)
Skema, Grenoble (Safe)
Skema and Grenoble do not require a GMAT score, a 690+ score would be considered competitive for the rest.
If you want to gauge your selection chances at the top EU schools, I would suggest you to take up a profile evalution so that I can get back to you with an indepth analysis.
