Distance between Smith's house and office is D km. On Monday, Smith tr [#permalink]
Let total distance is D.
It is given as on Monday, 1st 20 km traveled by M km/hr & rest (D-20) traveled by speed of 1.25M km/hr.

Total time on monday will be (Tm) = (20/m)+{(d-20)/1.25M}

Similarly, On tuesday, total distance traveled by m km/hr. So time on tuesday will be Tt = D/M

Ratio of time obn monday Tm/ Tt = [20+{(d-20)/1.25}]/D
M will get cancel out from top & bottom. So equation only depends on D.

Answer will be B.
