Here is my take on the WAT:
WAT or Written Ability test is a 30-45 minute writing assignment that is scheduled before the interviews starts. Applicants are asked their opinion or thoughts on a certain topic. Through this test, the admissions committee is evaluating if candidates can form their own opinions and thoughts on a topic and whether they can effectively communicate the same through the written medium.
Applicants should think before they start putting pen to paper. Follow a structure and write clear, concise statements. Focus on grammar and spellings (difficult since we hardly write on paper nowadays) and ensure that you get your thoughts across to the admissions committee.
