All the best.

Welcome and thanks! I see you had received scholarship offers from some other programs such as BYU, Purdue, and Broad. I wonder what made you pick Madison over these schools, especially BYU considering it is ahead of Madison in rankings. Obviously ranking is not the only factor one should consider while picking a school, I still want to know what was your rationale behind choosing Madison.

Hi Naren,
BYU didn't give me good scholarship offer. In the end it was between Madison, Broad and Jindal. I went with Madison as scholarship was good and it is STEM accredited for OTM and SCM.

Hi Mick, can candidates negotiate for merit award with the school ?

Hi Mick1005,
Can student pursue 2 specializations in Madison ? I want to take Finance specialization, however as I am an international student, I also want to follow SCM because it is STEM accredited.

Regarding the application, I dont find any word limits mentioned for application essays. Anyone could share info about that ?

I am afraid you can't. You can choose upto three specializations at the beginning of your application and then choose which one do you want to pursue later on.

3000 Characters is the limit. Including Spaces.

I think you can. I have heard people do it successfully and unsuccessfully both. Depends what your offer is and what the university can spare.

Hi,

I applied in R1 fro WSB. I received a mail today from Randy Parvin, asking for a skype call. Would you know what this might be about as the decision deadline is 20th Dec.
And how would I go about preparing for this call? I had given my interview on Nov 22nd.

Thanks,

Don't worry.... I don't think its a negative at all.... I had a call with Randy before the decision.... I don't remember if he initiated or I did.... But it was about telling me the benefits of Wisconsin and clarifying my doubts that I might have if i got accepted....

Interview Debrief:

1) Things about your professional background that make you a fit for your choice of specialization.
2) 5 words to describe yourself and explain why
3) What would your teammates and peers tell about your leadership style
4) How do you connect with people, your style of making relationships.
5) One piece of constructive criticism you got and worked on it.
6) If you had 2-3 wishes, what sills would you want to gain by using them.
7) Why MBA and why Wisconsin
8) What will you contribute to the class?
9) What do you want to gain from your classmates?

Etc..

It was longer than an hour. We finished in about 80 mins including questions i asked back and some time got wasted with connectivity issues.

With conversational and the interviewer had a understanding and supportive attitude. I could feel him taking interest in what i have to say, instead of just trying to evaluate me.
