Calling all IESE MBA applicants 2020 intake (Class of 2022)

Hey all,
does anyone know what the questions for the recommendation letter are?

I plan to apply for R2 and my boss asked me to make a draft of the letter over Christmas as he is on vacation without reception.

Would be great if someone knows.

Ehhh... Yeah it's not exactly ethical.
They're questions about how he perceived you, what he considers your strengths weaknesses, etc.
I wouldn't write the letter myself, potentially you could ask him/her to focus on certain aspects of your profile.

He can draft while he's not connected, and then provide it to you.
Otherwise how would you give him your draft?

What applicants sometimes do is provide some aspects of what they want their recommenders to talk about - e.g. provide a write up that recommender does not copy/paste from but rather providing guidance and examples that the boss then can choose from. Supervisors often are busy, forgetful, manage many people and may not remember the best example at the right time, esp if you had a recent misstep. You could give them a list of your accomplishments, achievements, examples of certain aspects.

P.S. At the end, unfortunately a number of bosses still refuse to write the recommendation letter. Not always out of laziness but sometimes if they have not gone to business school and never had to write one, they are concerned they will screw it up or frankly don't want to learn something new they don't need to, so maybe a little lazy. Anyway, then it is up to the applicant to choose what to do. The AdCom knows that this happens in certain countries more than others and chooses how much they want to value/weigh the LOR's accordingly.

what’s the approx. period between applications deadline and getting interview invite? I’ve applied in R2 and trying to estimate the timelines

as far as i remember, i had my application deadline jan 8th, and got my interview, 9th of march, and assessment day on the 10th. this was for Barcelona though. then the decision deadline was 1-2 weeks after that.

Anyone going to the AD in Sao Paulo Campus (8th February)??

What does it mean to get invite to interview and assessment day both?

Yes, I got invited to the AD on February 8. The personal interview has been scheduled the day before on Feb 7.

Is that it for the R2 invites ?

Does anyone know if the India wave of interview invites for R2 is over? Has anyone from India received an interview invite?

Yes that is for round 2.



TBH, I don't know. I suggest to contact the AdCom directly? I always found them very responsive and helpful.
