A, the assumption is people will be overweight again because they can't maintain their diet.

It assumes that obese people will not consume less food compared to normal people of the same weight .

B is out of scope.

I am going with A on this one as well and agree with ivymba's explanation...overweight individuals have to consume more food at the lower weight to regain back the weight that they lost.

So, the OA is A?

One more for A. Author assumes that overweight people will not be able to maintain the habit of eating fewer calories.
