For my first try, about 2 weeks ago I studied for about 5 weeks. The result was somewhat lower than what I had been getting in practice. I rescheduled to retake 5 weeks after the initial exam. I have some other stuff going on so I'll get in about 3 weeks of studying this time around. Just hoping to improve on my consistency I guess.

Hi,

Yes I'm back for one more try. I guess it's partly because I'm disappointed I didn't do as well as I could have, and partly because I feel guilty because I could have worked a little harder. Will it actually make a difference come application time if I have a 730 or something 30-50 points higher? Well, I can only give it a shot and then find out when acceptances are doled out in the spring. But the bottom line is that I feel like I should put forth my best effort and I don't think I did that the first time around.

Chen, I'd be happy to share if I could, but I don't think they allow for that :) I do hope, if I'm able to get into a great school, that I will see some of the people from this board on campus next year.

I guess all total about 20-30 hours...which is 20-30 hrs more than I studied for the SAT, but the $250 fee got me to study.

Actually 780. I was hitting 750-780 on GMATprep within the first 2 weeks of studying, but I didn't do quite that well on my first attempt with a 730 so I put in another 3 weeks of work between my first and second tries. But my background is quite different than most people taking the GMAT, I believe so my preparation was necessarily different as well.

I studied a total of about 25-30 hours including the time to take the two GMATPrep tests. I work long hours in my profession and couldn't study more.

I spent considerably more time studying for the LSAT when I took that a number of years ago. Maybe that's why I didn't concentrate on reading comprehension or critical reasoning.
