Re: Calling all Desautels (McGill) Applicants: [2020 Intake] Class of 2022 [#permalink]
Hi All,

I was planning to apply for the Full Time program - Fall Entry 2020. Due to some personal reasons, I was not able to apply previously.

The program starts in Aug'2020 and being an International Applicant, I am really concerned if I should apply to the program so late in the process. I reached out to the adcom and got a really direct answer - " We are still accepting applications".

I wanted to know the opinions of all those who have gone through the application process. What do you guys think about the probability of applying so late, given that the program also has a very intimate class?

Thanks!

Yea true. They have a very small class size. It depends on your profile mostly. If it is different, then you would stand a good chance even in R3. Your GMAT score is above their cut-off (Current students with whom I have interacted with have shared that McGill has a very holistic process, I have know people with GMAT score of 660 getting admitted while some with higher scores have been rejected). So it all boils down to your experience and how you convey them in your essays. If you feel that you have a unique/not-common profile then timing makes no difference.

Depends on your profile. If you are a wow candidate that they don't have right now, they will admit you. If you are an average candidate then they won't

Hi Don't let it get you down, I'm sure you have amazing qualities. While the GMAT is not the only role in helping adcoms make decisions it does play an important role. If you scored 570 you're on the very low end, unless you're spectacular in all other aspects of your application it would be hard to get accepted. Consider retaking the GMAT and apply again next year. Best of luck

Hello there, Not letting anything get me down. I already have an accept from HEC Montreal and Ted Rogers School of management. I can still take classes at Desautels if I join HEC Montreal.

Cheers!

My guess would be that you can't take 600-level classes at McGill, unless they are changing something this semester. Haven't seen any students (except on exchange) in any of the MBA courses

Hello Shruti... I just want to ask you one or two questions regarding your profile because I am going to apply next term i.e. for sept-21, so that your experience will help me in admission process for McGill.

What are your academics?
How much did you score on GMAT?
