I submitted on Oct 6th.

Mine still says "being processed" which is interesting because...

I just got an invitation to attend an event about "a full tuition plus stipend fellowship that is designed to attract top MBA candidates to the Johnson School, and develop the next generation of world class business leaders. "

It goes on to say that "You have been selected from a group of prospective students to attend this event."

That caught my eye. I wonder what that means. I wonder how "selective" the invite was. Anyone else get one?

More curiously, how did they select me if my application only lists "being processed" and, anyway, if I was selected for this, how is it I'm not selected for an interview yet? Seems like cart before the horse scenario.

In any case, I'm obviously excited. A tuition ride like this could be big.

Its not an offer. It's an invitation to come learn about the program. It's light years away from an offer.

Not sure. I have a 730.

It was my immediate thought - some kind of GMAT cutoff for invites.

38V, 42Q first time... 44V, 39Q second time...
6.0 both essays

Very displeased with my second Q score... but good GPA from a very good school.

I am sure your Invite is on its way!

I'm not too suprised.

Actually I'm a little frustrated. I did some digging and it turns out its for US Citizens only.

Clearly, the "preselection" process is nothing more than:

SELECT names from APPLICANTS where GMAT > 700

Or whoever you write database stuff these days.

They should add

AND where US_CITIZEN = "Y"

Well if it makes you feel better, consider my scenario.

Meet the requirements but unfortunately but cannot partake for no other reason than becuase of a generalization of individuals based on an arbritrary determination on something the individuals they themselves cannot control.

I.e. "You aint american, and thus, all of you cannot partake, even though this is likely something that was never in your direct control."

Last I checked, thats pretty much a textbook definition of discrimination.
