Hi GMAT Club,
This is my first post and to start I wanted to thank you for the incredible amount of resources present in this website to help us prepare for GMAT.
I had my first attempt on the GMAT a few months ago and score 710 (Q48, V38, IR7 and AWA 4). I wasn't very happy with the score since in the practice GMAT official prep exams I was consistently scoring 750, with V 42-44, so I decided to take it again today.
Disappointingly I obtained the same overall result, 710, but with small improvements in some of the sections: Q49, V38, IR8 and I also think that the AWA went better than the last time so hopefully I can raise to a 5.
Now I don't really know whether to accept this new score or not. Would it look bad in the eyes of the commission since it doesn't show an overall improvement? Or is it worth keeping it considering that some of the subsections are better?
Basically the options I have available are:
1 - Accept the new score (and school will see both the new and the old score)
2 - Cancel the new score and keep the old one
3 - Cancel the new score and do the GMAT again, but this will mean that I will need to move my first round applications to the second round
My plan is to apply to HBS and Stanford GSB in the first round and to Sload, Haas and Anderson in the second round. I believe the rest of my application is strong and my converted GPA is close to 4.
What do you think is the best option?
Thank you!
With that improvement even if it is little, i don't know why you would want to cancel it. Keep it as it's not going to bite you. Rather it shows positives - consistency and grit.
