Give explanation on rash was caused by prolonged contact with telephones. What is the connection?
Hello!
The question expects us to find the reasons which are not associated with the contact between phone and our face.
Let's use POE to find our answer,
Eliminate Option A, if people are mildly allergic, then it is but obvious that rash was caused because of using the phone. This supports dermatologist's diagnosis. So, Drop this.
Eliminate Option B, if the contact occurred equally on both sides of the face then it explains that telephone users were right handed as well as left handed who had their preferences of talking. This also supports dermatologist's diagnosis.
Eliminate Option C, as the people had to use the phone extensively, it clears our doubt and proves that excess use of the phone has led to rashes on the face.
Option D sounds an exception here. So let's hold on with this.
Eliminate Option E, as there was an increase in the usage of telephones, this proves that increased use of telephones has led to rashes on the face.
Option D is exceptional as it does not support the dermatologist's diagnosis. It talks about a generalised case where 'telephones are used by most in the industrialised world'.
This is out of scope because we are least concerned about the telephone usage in the industrialised world.

Lake1987The dermatologist concluded that the rash was caused by prolonged
contact with telephones.
The dermatologist is asserting that long use/ contact with telephones will result into a rash on the face. Given above were the reasons which supported the dermatologist's diagnosis. The exceptional was Option D because it was irrelevant and out of scope.
Hope this answer helps you my friend.
