Re: Calling All Rotman Applicants - Class Of 2023 (2021 Intake) [#permalink]
Congrats JingboChen94, I think they have announced the results for candidates from China already. The tracker shows one more admitted from China.

How much is the scholarship they have given you, a rough estimate would give us a good idea of the scholarship pool this year, given your high GMAT.

Have you applied at other places as well or just Rotman??

Again, congratulations on the admit!!

Kira: I received Kira interview invite on July 18th. The questions are follows:

1. who is your role model outside your family
2. what are your one good habit and one bad habit.
3. if you are writing a blog for incoming students, what would you write

Interview questions: I interviewed on July 31st
3 typical questions:

1. walk me through your resume
2. why Rotman
3. Short term and long term goal

3 more challenging ones:

1. tell me about a time when you received negative feedback
2. what is the main trend in your industry
3. if Rotman can make three promises, what do you want them to be.

The interview was very relaxing, and even the adcom told me to relax a little. So I kept the interview conversational.

I am super excited about the offer. Please hit me up with questions if you have any. I look forward to get to knowing my potential fellas!!

Hi Guys,

I already have an MBA from IIFT, Delhi in India. I wanted to go for a second MBA from a globally recognised school to achieve my career goals.
In MBA applications for U.S schools, I am able to explain the reasoning for a second MBA in the optional essay part. But, for Rotman ,I believe there is no optional essay question. How should I go ahead with justifying by reasoning. Should i mention it in the spike factor essay itself or not mention it.

Thanks! Roman is my target school and the only school I have applied. My original plan was if Rotman fails, I will apply to other schools.

For scholarship, I don't feel too comfortable disclosing the exact number, but it is substantial and beyond what I expected, and about the same level as last few years. So I won't worry about scholarship decreasing. Hope this helps!

Hey guys,

Can anyone tell me what does "final year average of at least mid B" mean in a 10 point scale and what does 3.0 in the final year mean? Does it mean that if I have 4 years degree then I need to get 3.0 at least in only the final year?

An appropriate bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, with a final year average of at least mid-B from a recognized university.
A minimum GPA of 3.0 in the final year of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

Do you have a source for this? Im curious about the same thing, but the last time I was able to find any literature regarding the GPA requirements was from a PDF put out by Rotman in 2013. Do you have anything more recent? I cant find anything on the admissions side either.

I suggest that you look for a GPA calculator. Otherwise, Rotman's Admission Requirements website (see here: https://www.rotman.utoronto.ca/Degrees/ ... quirements) states that you need an average of 3 over the last year. Definitely do look at your last year, do the calculation, and compare. I would consider anything above B or 73-75, depending on the scale, enough to apply. Also, if you believe that you are very strong in the rest of your elements, do apply! Don't self-select yourselves out.

There are several MBA admissions fairs coming up in the following weeks and months. If you are in doubt, consider attending (virtually) and asking your questions, it makes a lot more sense than just speculating. It will also help you get in front of the admissions team and give you an advantage later on in the process.

Is it just me or has it been extremely difficult for Indian candidates to touch base with the admissions committee? Anyway, has anyone gotten an invite for their early round application?

Hi, thomanator

A lot of people in the previous posts have mentioned the same difficulty in reaching out to the admissions committee.

I think it is quite difficult. I applied fairly early but no response yet.

Does Rotman has any student Ambassadors and did anyone try reaching out to them? How was the response? I am thinking maybe I can reach out to the adcom(on behalf of GMATClub) and ask for some participation in the forum either from the students or from the adcom.

I think that Rotman is unable to cope with the increased number of applications.
