Nice wines. After we are admitted to our top choices
we should get together and open a few good bottles.
I must say that I haven't had an Opus One that was worth the money since the '96 vintage.
How did you like the '03 Pavillon Rouge? I'm still eagerly awaiting the arrival of my '03 Bordeaux that I paid for like 2 years ago.
It was quite good, I didn't buy it, so I'm not sure what was paid for it, probably $50 or so I would guess, not terribly unreasonable but I've had better for far less. I'm a huge fan of the impossible to find Lacrima di Moro D'alba - a low production italian wine that very fruity and has a nice soft finish. It's about as unlikely to come across as Bush winning an intelligence competition, but every now and then I find some and clean the store out.
The 03 Opus was good, the best I'd ever had was a 97 (never had a 96)..
HAve you ever seen wine bid? I'm skeptical because prices here seem soooo low compared to what reality should dictate...but its an interesting site.
Glad to see another wino on the site. If I get into KGSM or Chicago, I'll mail you a bottle of Opus and we can share a 'virtual' glass.
