Does anyone know when Yale typically releases or begins to release interview invitations for round 1? Wasn't able to find in previous years. Good luck all!

Yale does it on a rolling basis. It could be as late as December.

When is the earliest date that Yale would release the interview invites?

In the past, shortlisted candidates have heard back from Yale as early as the second week of October.

Got an invite. I am sure yours are on the way! Do earlier invites have any implications (higher or lower chances)?

Yeah I just saw. Hopefully we get ours too. Do they send invites as they review applications and therefore people who submitted earlier will get an invite earlier or am I just being dumb?

I got an invite today, I applied Sep 2nd, and finished the behavioral and video essays a few weeks back on September 4th. I heard part of the way they organize invitations is also based on location. I live in Texas for what it's worth.

My guess is that the most likely answer is they're sending it out to short list candidates first that have no black marks on their application (eg - GPA of 3.5+, GMAT of 730+, brand name WE). I'm at least hoping that's what they're doing and why I haven't gotten an invite yet LOL. I'm a super splitter (2.9gpa, 780 GMAT), so I'm trying to convince myself they just need a second read of my app before they invite me.

Feeling kind of bummed - Yale and Tuck were my top 2 choices and I did poorly in my Tuck interview, so I'm really all in on Yale at this point. Oh well, all I can do is wait a couple months. My Darden interview went A+, so I at least (hopefully!) have that deadline to look forward to.

Wow great that you Darden interview went well. And damn, 780 on GMAT wohooo ? I am also getting nervous here. I feel like I applied to too many ambitious schools Lol

Just a reminder that even if you do get earlier interviews, the decision date will be the same.

Since there were so many people asking, I'll point out that I just noticed the application tracker says they hope to extend interviews within 8 weeks of the submission deadline, which would be Nov 10th. This is different than previous years, where many interviews were right up until the decision deadline, which is a full 4 weeks after Nov 10th.

I am not sure if it is true, but I heard from my colleagues that Yale SOM is one of the most "elitist" schools. I heard that, for example, they place an absurd amount of emphasis on the prestige of your undergrad institution (more so than other top 10 b-schools). Is this true??

Maybe they are, but anecdotally I received an interview invite and my school isn't even ranked nationally.
