Both Standard Deviation and 3-D Geometries are tested topics, the former much more commonly tested.

The GMAT will test your conceptual understanding of standard deviation (SD). You should be aware of the formula to calculate SD but you will not be tested in terms of having you do involved calculations. Once you understand the concepts, you should be able to answer the question.

3-D Geometry problems may involve having to visualize inscribed objects. An example of this would be a sphere inscribed in a cube and vice versa. The ability to visualize problems and applying simple formulas will allow you to answer correctly.
