Probability to select grape candy from 1st bowl = 3/5
Probability to select grape candy from 2nd bowl = 2/3
Probability that the two selected candies are both grape flavored = 3/5 * 2/3 = 6/15 = 2/5

Hence, OA is (C).

It's an AND condition here, so we have to multiply the probabilities

P(Grape from 1st bowl) = \(\frac{3}{5}\)
P(Grape from 2nd bowl) = \(\frac{2}{3}\)

Overall = \(\frac{3}{5}\) * \(\frac{2}{3}\) = \(\frac{2}{5}\)

To Find

    • The probability that the two selected candies are both grape flavored.


Approach and Working Out


    • Probability of getting a grape candy from the first bowl is 3/5.
    • Probability of getting a grape candy from the second bowl is 2/3.
    • Answer = \(\frac{3}{5}\) × \(\frac{2}{3}\) = \(\frac{2}{5}\)


Correct Answer: Option C

Probability to draw a grape candy from first bowl: 3/5=0.6
Probability to draw a grape candy from second bowl:2/3=0.67
Overall Probability: 2/3*3/5=6/15=2/5=0.4
