    • Another bowl contains three hard candies, two of which are grape flavored.
    • All the candies look the same.
    • A child takes one candy from each bowl.

To Find

    • The probability that the two selected candies are both grape flavored.


Approach and Working Out


    • Probability of getting a grape candy from the first bowl is 3/5.
    • Probability of getting a grape candy from the second bowl is 2/3.
    • Answer = \(\frac{3}{5}\) × \(\frac{2}{3}\) = \(\frac{2}{5}\)

Probability to draw a grape candy from first bowl: 3/5=0.6
Probability to draw a grape candy from second bowl:2/3=0.67
Overall Probability: 2/3*3/5=6/15=2/5=0.4
