I am really pumped to get my GMAT score today - 710 (Q48 V39 IR 7)
Now to start 710 may not seem great to some, but to me after so many attempts , it is a great achievement to finally breach that 700 barrier!!
Let me give you some history I started preparing last year from the
Manhattan Prep book set and wanted to get a feel before my real exam so I took my ,
1st attempt - 600 (Q42 V31)
Then I studied from the books and got a decent score, considering I had a good entrepreneurship background I decided to apply to b-schools based on 680.
2nd attempt - 680 (Q46 V37)
I applied to CMU Tepper, Goizueta and Mendoza based on my 680, but I got dinged from tepper and goizueta and got rejected from wait list in Mendoza.
So this year I decided to again retake the GMAT, but decided to join a Test prep company. So in comes
e-gmat full (Q+V) course.
I found the course to be very comprehensive , and want to give a special shout out to them for also enrolling me in a free - mentor-ship program!!
Hence I took my 3rd attempt (online) - 670 (Q47 V35)
Alas even after studying for the better part of 2-3 months my score had actually dropped!! so I thought that may be I just did not perform well on that day , So I took the in center GMAT 10 days later and got an even worse score -
4th attempt - 630 (Q43 V34) - Cancelled .
I was so heartbroken after this score that I decided to quit my GMAT journey and just apply to inferior schools based on my past years 680. But my father convinced me to give it 1 last try, keeping in mind that the i already had 680 in the bank, so if the worst comes I should just cancel the score.
So as a hail marry I put up a post in this forum and got great advise from rick from Empowergmat, so as last try I joined his course.
Out of all the courses I found this course the only one to suggest an SC method that could actually work in 90 seconds. Also his tactics and tips on strategic elimination helped me sort out my timing problem, so just after 1.5 months of prep, I took my final attempt
5th & Final attempt - 710 ( Q48 V39 IR7).
I just hope that someone reads this and gets inspired and does not the quit the GMAT journey because of 1,2 or even 4 failure like me
P.S - Not to take anything away from the
e-gmat course , it is a good course but it just did not work for me. Also the
Manhattan prep book set also gave me good value for money( 680) for self study books.
