Dear all,
Currently, I was admitted into 2 MBA programs, but it hard for me to choose which one since I have little experience about (tangible and intangible) values that schools would add to my careers.

• Michigan Ross: MBA degree with $40k scholarship for 2 years, that mean I have tuition depth of $100k. It is not to mention that after one year of graduation the risk of not getting H-1B will sent me home with high depth. (I don’t know if Michigan Ross MBA certified STEM in coming years).

• Notre Dame (Mendoza): MBA/MSBA dual degree with $$$ scholarship, and I have much smaller tuition depth of $30k. Plus, the program is STEM therefore, I have better position to achieve H-1B visa.

My goal is to follow Data & Business Analytics concentration and in the long run to work in Automobile industry.
I would very appriciate to learn everyone opinions and suggestions for my case.

Congrats on your admits!

Ross is STEM certified for class if 2022.

Ross and Michigan is the better location for automotive industry focus.

Why wouldn’t you do an MS in business analytics or similar instead?
Silicon Valley will hire anybody with a pulse and who can say the words SQL or Python. Why do an MBA if the goal is data and analytics?

It also clearly looks like you’re not in a rush to get into the auto industry


Also, is this question for yourself or for someone else? You’re a member since 2013 and you’ve been doing this for a long time.

I would suggest do an MS now, work, save get your H1, then figure out if you want an MBA. If you want an MBA later, there are some solid part time and exec programs that give the same value as full time programs.

If you don’t know why you want to get an MBA, it clearly means that you shouldn’t get an MBA, you won’t be participating as expected and it’ll be a waste of $/time/effort.

MBA even from top schools is a lot of blood, sweat and tears of coffee chats, classes, projects, internship, case preps, events, homework and getting drunk.

Hi all, finally I have made decision to join Michigan Ross, class of 2023 (one year deferal due to Covid).

Althouh Mendoza is a good school and was really generous with their offer, Ross drawns me with impressive supportive admission team and collaborative community. Besides, the new STEM certified MBA at Ross has cleared my concern to secue job at USA to pay back tuition debt.

Congrats! The voting on this thread is a bit strange given that Ross also offered decent scholarship. It is definitely a tier above Mendoza. Good luck with your MBA!
