Any here applying to Georgetown?

I was. I decided not to.

Rhyme, would you please tell me why not? By the time I'm in DC, I will stop by Georgetown for an interview, because it's very close to where I will be living, but I'm still considering if I should apply to Georgetown or not...

No good reason not to apply. I simply don't consider it exclusive enough for me to give up 2 years of salary and spend another $100,000 on, so I dropped it.

Spend another $100,000? Man, Rhyme, what have you been buying lately?! :)

Poor phrasing on my part. In the back of my mind, I probably said another 100,000 cause thats roughly my annual salary so it feels like "another".

I am. Already had my interview.

Scrambling to get essays ready for Dec 1st deadline. 50-50 if I'll have the essays in good enough shape by then though.

It wasn't a campus interview so I haven't had the chance to see the school yet. My only concern about the facilities is that I have heard that the building is in need of improvement. They are building a new one but it wont be ready until 2008.

The interview was very conversational and she (Wendy Weiss) was very nice. Standard questions: Why MBA? Why Georgetown? Walk me through your resume, if I were to put together a team what would I tell your teammates that you bring to the table? What clubs would you be interested in? etc..

Like I said, it didn't feel high pressure at all (Marylands was more high pressure), but more conversational. Just do some research on the program. Hope this helps.

I'm currently in the Certificate of Business Administration there (https://www.cpd.georgetown.edu/business_ ... ation.html) and am loving it! The teachers in the program are the same ones from the MBA program, so its a good test to see if the MBA commitment makes sense.

The teaching is great, the campus is awesome, and the high international flavor makes class interesting. I wasn't originally going to do the MBA with Georgetown but it's looking like a top choice of mine because of the proximity to surrounding government agencies. I can't be out of work for more than 1 year so the location is really key.

Also, there are some big companies with their headquarters in the area. I know that Booz Allen and Bearingpoint are located in McLean, VA (about 10 minutes away). If you want to know more about the area, give me a PM.
