Hi, I have been admitted to both Foster($$) and Scheller(Full GRA). I am interested in a career in technology post MBA. I am confused since

1). Location - I believe Seattle would offer me more opportunities in Tech
2). Tuition - Is foster worth the additional $?
3). Brand Name - I believe Scheller has a better brand recall. Would it be difficult to move to west coast?


Need your help guys!!

Congratulations! What is the $$ difference between Foster and Scheller? How much do you expect it to be per year/during the whole MBA program?

TryingToMakeIt - would you be able to weigh in about Foster?

$20K is not bad at all for the proximity to the Amazon, Microsoft, and other Tech companies in Seattle (FB, Google, you name it really). I feel Foster and UW has a better name in the MBA world than Scheller but that's one person's opinion here. As an FYI - 11 people out of 71 graduating class ended up West after graduation. That's CA, OR, WA, AK, AZ, NV, UT, MT, ID, HI, WY)... not too much movement west into Tech. 60% stayed in the South. It is a regional program, just like Foster, except it is West Coast vs. South.

Scheller is definitely a well known school - but I think most known in the southern region (if anything, similarly to Foster in the PNW/W) and if you mention the parent university. On its own, I'm not so sure. If staying down in the south/south east is on your radar - consider it. But if PNW tech/west tech is your jam, I'd push for Foster. Foster with money is a great deal + you'll make the remaining spend back in an easy year or two.
