Thanks in advance for your thoughts and feedback.

Can someone please evaluate my profile for Top MBA programs in Canada?
As we are still in the midst of the pandemic, I am interested in appling to a Canadian MBA/EMBA program (GMAT waiver is preferred). Else I will give GRE/GMAT within a moth or so.

My profile is as follows:

Nationality: Indian

Education:

Class 10th: 76%
Class 12th: 84%
Masters Control Systems Engg: The University of Sheffield -- Y(2010), 68%
Bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering: Uttar Pradesh Technical University - Y(2008), 71.1%

Professional Experience: 10 years

Senior Program Manager in Mastercard with hands on expertise in managing the entire gamut of digital and payment processing business and banking.
Worked extensively in Core Payments (Dual & Single Message), Digital Products (Mastercard Digital Enablement Services),
QR Funding & Payment, Payment Gateway, cross border and domestic payments, Mobile Wallets (Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Xiomi Pay, Apple Pay),
acquiring and issuing authorizations, clearing and settlement, Card Management System including Debit Cards, Prepaid Cards & Credit Cards,
Vocalink Faster Payments Gateway, merchant acquiring, electronic financial switch.

Extra-curricular:
Education Volunteer, Women Empowerment Drive, Fundraising Assistance work for NGO's, University Orientation Assistant
I write poetry and couple of my pieces have been sent for publications

Hi Simranjit,
Thanks for posting your profile. I think you have a lot of strengths in your profile - solid academics, strong work experience, and excellent community involvement (education volunteer, fundraising for NGOs). That said, I do think you are more experienced than the typical candidate in the 2-year full-time MBA programs. Given your tenured work experience, I do think a Part-Time or EMBA program would be a better fit for you. These programs are tailored for tenured professionals, and as you network, you'd also want to develop relationships with classmates who have similar levels of experience as you.

Regardless of which program you decide on, it's important to convey what specific knowledge or skills you wish to learn at business school. For example, what role/position do you anticipate growing into post-MBA? How will an MBA help you achieve your career goals?

Additionally, be sure to articulate what perspectives you can bring to the business school classroom discussion - this can help differentiate you from the other candidates. Don't be afraid to share personal stories with AdCom so that they can get to know you better and understand what motivates you.

If you are able to convey all that well in your applications, I think you have a good shot at the schools on your list. Do look more into the PT and EMBA programs though. I think you'd be more suited for (and competitive at) those programs.

Hi,

UWO Ivey, HEC Montreal, UBC Sauder, Wilfrid Laurier, University of Victoria are among the top universities in Canada that do not have an upper age limit for applications. We have admitted many candidates with similar profiles to yours.

Age is not a limiting factor for an MBA application, however, it is important to assess your profile in detail to answer the important application questions: Why should the admission committee select you over someone else? What would you be bringing to the table that is of value to them?
Your story needs to be aligned with your long-term career goals with a clear outline of your expectations at the university.

I urge you to exhaust the options of full-time MBA programs first if your priority is to secure placements with a good ROI. EMBA programs do not have a dedicated placements team, hence you have to do depend entirely on networking.

Hi
I am abt to apply in canadian colleges for MBA progam(Marketing)..My gmat score is 640. IELTS 7.5, 4 years of work experience in Accenture and HCL(currently working also). 10th-9.4 cgpa 12th-95% grad-btech from MSIT(ipu)-73%. I am applying in UBC,Mcmaster,HEC,York,Ivey,Queens(both Ivey and Queens for 2023)
Kindly suggest me which college I have a better shot at?
My nationality is Indian and I do have a few extra co curricular including NGO experience and marketing internships in a company.
