Hello,
karlottastroh, and welcome to GMAT Club. I would say that first, you will want to make sure you have adequate documentation to present to GMAC™ in your request for extra time. You would hate to assume you would get, say, double time and then end up with no accommodation or with something different from what you had requested. I mention this because one of my clients once applied for double time and had extensive documentation, but in the end, he received time and a half, and that news adversely affected his preparation late in that process. In terms of general preparation strategy, you may want to consult the latest
GMAT Study Plan article by GMAT Club founder
bb. There, you will find plenty of recommendations for how to build a solid preparation plan, as well as materials that will help you achieve a score you are capable of. Just start with something and stick to it, get a feel for the questions and the strategies to work through them. And of course, if you have questions along the way, feel free to reach out to the community for advice. There is no perfect time to begin, and there is no perfect course to pursue for every test-taker. Just jump in and get your hands dirty, adjusting as you go.
Good luck with your studies.
- Andrew
