If you got waitlisted without an interview, I think you will most probably hear back an update when the interview invites roll out for the next round.

Is this too generic or does that mean they will definitely be interviewing ?

From the wording, I think it is a definite interview invitation and you will get to know more about it in the coming weeks. Did others who got waitlisted without an interview got this email?

Did you get an email or see anything on the portal about something like "if you were not interviewed, you will get an interview invite" etc? Based on the GMAT score, I would say you have a good chance of getting an interview invite. How do you feel about your other parts of the application?

Yup got the email as you mentioned, app seems pretty solid to me.
