But how will they issue even student visas if the consulate stay closed due to local situation? And they can’t wait till the end to see if the situation resolves, they would likely have to provide alternatives (online classes or option to defer) in the 30-45 days. For them, the sooner they have an idea of number of students, the better it is to plan for logistics

The consultates still remain open for emergency visa processing. They are closed for non emergency. They mention that they will provide “limited visa services - which essentially means emergency”.

exact same thing happened last year - but everyone’s VISAs were processed

I agree. There are 2 things to consider here - 1) A large number of vaccinated people are getting infected. So, we can’t infer that vaccinations would eradicate corona immediately. Moreover, vaccinations aren’t that effective on the new variant. 2) New variant of corona is an airborne highly contagious virus; hence, we can’t expect classes to resume to normal in the upcoming term, albeit with the vaccinations and other measures, conduction of normal curriculum seems much more likely for the 2022 intake.

It all depends on the individual goals of a person. If someone is looking for tag and good short term placement or if someone is looking for complete exposure, college life, long term goals, proper networking and personality development aspects along with the curriculum, tag and the immediate placement.

Ani10, called them around 5 in the evening. A lady said that it will be released by EOD. But frankly didn’t look convincing! It was more of as per mail it’s 20th, so wait till 20th gets over with a mix of I don’t what results
