It is hard to tell but looking at the GMAT Online Enhanced product rollout timing, they likely will push out the e-book version as well. I do not see the electronic product on the site yet, and we are 3 weeks out so likely it is all pushed out.

bb mcelroytutoring Interestingly, there's an article today at mba.com, dated April 26th (2 days in the future), that says "available for purchase today". However, the links to the products are currently broken.

https://www.mba.com/exams-and-exam-prep ... guide-2022

There's also an businessbecause.com article from March 31st that says it "will be released on April 27": https://www.businessbecause.com/news/gm ... guide-2022

Amazon is back to May 11th.

Also, the "Look Inside" is available so you can see the Tables of Contents and first 60 pages of the bland quant review

Here is a comparison between the Guides based on the table of contents

- There are 2 new sections:
1. Quant Review (expanded section #3)
2. Verbal Review (section #6)
- Very few changes in question quantity; the number of pages of questions did not change
- The PS section has 6 additional explanation pages

That's it. Don't expect much more from OG 2022 than from other editions I guess. It is nice they are trying to add a Verbal and expanded a Quant Review sections but I am no holding my breath for those two to stand on their own 2 feet. You can preview the Quant section on amazon that has the first 50-60 pages live by the way . In total, 68 pages have been added.

Thank you GMATCoachBen! This is unexpected but a nice surprise

The other slightly unexpected item is that I am having a hard time locating any new questions. Just poking around at this point but all questions I see with -03 at the end appear to be from older OG editions such as OG 2015 or even OG 2019 :dontknow:

Actually it is a complete disappointment 😢 🤥😩

Absolutely no new questions in this edition. 3 questions have been removed... and that’s it. No question changes.... there are a few additional exercises that are a part of the verbal and quant review but that’s a handful of questions (all are reprints of super old OG questions)

I had anticipated a big disappointment after I read the following large announcements. They were big on hyperbole but scarce on promises of new content that we hadn't seen. If we read carefully, we can see that they did not really promise anything new. It's all repackaging and in keeping with new marketing trends of palming off old products in new covers.

"What’s new in the GMAT Official Guide 2022?

The GMAT Official Guide is released annually, with each version bringing additional features and new practice questions. The guides are published as books and available online as e-books.

New features of the GMAT Official Guide 2022 include:

- Online Diagnostic Evaluation: You can discover your strengths and focus areas for fundamental skills within Verbal, Quantitative and Integrated Reasoning sections of the exam via an updated online evaluation.

- Verbal Review Chapter (new) and Quantitative Review Chapter (updated): You can review the fundamental skills and concepts with introductory review chapters followed by 25 practice questions.

- Quick Quantitative Reference Sheets: You can review common quantitative formulas and concepts to master the quantitative section of the GMAT exam.

- Updated Answer Explanations: Study the reasoning behind the answers to help improve your performance."

AND

"Why should you buy the latest version of the GMAT Official Guide?

“The new edition contain more features than ever before to help you evaluate your skills, build your knowledge, and track your performance,” says Ana Kyper, senior director of product management at GMAC.

The new online diagnostic evaluation, Ana explains, is only available to purchasers of the GMAT Official Guide 2022 and is key in helping you understand your strengths and weaknesses in advance of your GMAT prep.

The latest guide includes over 1,000 practice questions across quantitative and verbal reasoning, analytical writing, and integrated reasoning, and answer explanations are included so that you can study the reasoning behind the answers to help improve your performance."

Yes, it’s very upsetting, I agree, but not at all surprising given GMAC’s history. This year, GMAC has probably put all its resources into developing new GMAT online questions (I’m sure that work from home and COVID didn’t help either).

GMAC could have just skipped a year of the OG instead of serving us only recycled questions, though. The OG 2022 bundle is definitely not worth the $70 in that case.

What about the Quantitative and Verbal guides? Are those all repeat questions as well?

The verbal guide is frankly harsh and cannot be called a guide. It is a collection of pages where you get 1 brief overview of types of arguments, 1 page on modifiers, and 1 page on tenses (1 page includes a concept, 2 practice questions, then same practice questions reprinted with the explanations of all answer choices. The best example I can give you is if someone gets into a major accident and they provided with a bandaid. That's what it feels - it is nominal at best and represents about 1% of the concepts covered on the GMAT

Yes... you should probably get a new OG 2021 or OG 2022. Probalby 90% of the new OG will be new questions for you.
Keep in mind that some of the OG 2015 questions are in the GMAT Prep and Exam Packs so I would not recommend going through the Older OG's until you actually go through the GMAT Prep.

I had started my GMAT prep one month back using the GMAT Official Guide 2017. Is GMAT Official Guide 2017 still a good source to prepare now that upto GMAT Offical Guide 2022 has been released?

Thanks a lot,BB. This is helpful. I have the OG 2019, which I'm assuming would be comprehensive. I'm looking for more official verbal questions, and not sure what to pick between Verbal Guide and Exam Pack. I attempted quite a few GMAT Advanced questions here already.

I would not say upgrading is the right word.
You could buy the OG 2022/2021 in addition to your guides. I would hang on to your editions too! You will probably gain about 400-500 new questions (or about 50% of the content) by buying the new edition. It could be worthwhile if you are looking for new practice questions but I would not discard your older OG's. I would probably go through those first and then, if you need additional questions (many people go heave on questions, which I don't recommend but a diff story) so then you can. get this edition.

Yes, Your OG 2019 is just 200 questions away from the latest edition so the value in buying an additional book is not big per se.
Getting the new updated Editions of the Verbal Guide and Quant Guide would be a good investment though. They would have 50-70% of new questions.
Also getting the Advanced Questions book could be valuable as you mentioned though GMATNinja tore it apart in one of his posts (I think)... definitely getting Exam Packs 3&4 and 5&6 is a better use of the money (since most end up buying them anyway) so if your money is not burning a hole in your pocket, I would prioritize it towards those.
