Hi,
I would like to know my chances for Early Entry Option (EEO) at ISB.

10th - 8.6 CGPA (86%) (CBSE)
12th - 79.2 % (CBSE)
Graduation - Electronics (Instrumentation & Control), Thapar Univerisity Patiala, 6.6 CGPA (66%)
Work Ex - 6 Months internship + 12 Month Work Ex (as on 31-06-2020), both at Deloitte as a Data Analyst (Tax)
GMAT Score - 700

NO GAP YEARS during schooling, college or job. 3 backlogs during undergraduation (cleared at first attempt after re-appearing).

Extra-Curricular -
1. More than 20 medal positions at inter-school and inter/intra university level competitions. (Athletics and Football)
2. Regional level participant at CBSE Clusters (Athletics)
3. Social work experience from 3rd standard till college. (Around 5-7 Social Work certificates)
4. Various positions held at University level (Finance Head, Marketing Head of various university-level societies)
5. Planning to start a tree plantation company (NGO/StartUp) to improve my social work experience (Please post your suggestions on this idea)

If not in EEO, do I stand a chance in the normal entry after a work experience of 4-5 years at other big firms like Amazon, JP Morgan etc?

Thankyou so much for your help in advance :)

Hi 2prex

Looks decent overall. A 700 GMAT will hold you in good stead, and Deloitte is of course a top employer.
- Your XII marks and college marks are on the slightly lower side. The backlogs may not make that much of a difference unless you put in an extra year at Thapar.
- ECA is quite decent. The tree plantation company is not really needed for MBA admissions, but do it anyway if you are passionate about the idea.
- Your work as a data analyst in the Tax division of Deloitte seems quite interesting. Please provide more details around that.

Hi Hemanth

You have a good profile, and a strong GMAT score of 720. As an entrepreneur who is already engaging with ISB, you will be valued as a PGP applicant too. The important aspect in your profile will be showcasing relevant post-PGP goals, and the need for an MBA. Simply stating future growth for your startup may not be enough. Other than that, with a decent application, your chances should be quite good.

Hi prodex

Aim for a 700+ in general, and of course the higher the better. As you would be on the lower side of experience when you apply, the GMAT can be a good way to differentiate. Scores of 720+ are not uncommon for EEO applicants.

Hello hemanthreddynaini,

With your GMAT score and entrepreneurial experience, we see you have a good chance, provided you are able to present both your achievements and future goals through a set of compelling essays. :-)

Considering you have not spoken about your career goals in your post, we are not in a position to comment on the same.

All the best!

Hello prodex,

Thanks for writing in.

While no score can guarantee an admit, you must aim for a score upwards of 710; the higher, the better (especially if you have an average GPA as the GMAT score may help compensate for the same to some extent).

All the best!

-
Did u mention clearly what complicated project youbworked on and handled successfully?
Be clear on that and if it comes to interview talk about the different difficult situations you tackeled at that scenario.

-
Volunteer exp - well can't comment until u share what you did , how u did and what was the final outcome or result that gave you satisfaction.
If it indeed gave one....was it just to fill the gaps in cv? Or tick the mark ? No disrespect just whenever the work ex is less and its about EEO - THEY Might scrutinize u guys more.
So think, retrospect more on it and have answers ready

Coming up to other aspects of the profile
All seems to be good fit for the school(isb)
Showcase your work exp in detail , showcase the initiative that u must have been carrying forward in your recent or current role, citibank is great brand to have👍
I would say -
Just be ready for the interview coz thats gonna be a make it or break it part .

GMAT or GRE - no difference no pro or con there so don't worry.
Personal preference is what is easier for u...
For me it was gmat ...for u it might be gre.

Just understand that GRE or GMAT is just one aspect the overall profile and interview , work ex so far and extra curriculars are a packaged deal ...so all the best.

PS-
Not a consultant just giy who got in at isb with regular admit bt decided for abroad mba👍👍☺️
