Re: Calling All Rotman Applicants - Class Of 2023 (2021 Intake) [#permalink]
Hello Rotman Admits and Faithfull's

I thought i should get the counsel of this group on my situation. I interviewed for a spot in the 2021 MBA intake at Rotman with Chris Jones on May 7th. After the interview he told me that i will hear the decision the next week i.e last week. I didn't get any correspondence from Rotman or Chris last week. We are now in a new week and i'm wondering if its a good idea to follow up with him or just to sit it out. As most of you know its nerve wrecking to wait and i have seen on this page people that said that their final decision was interviewed. How can that be? I thought a final decision is either admitted or denied? I'd like to hear your views as i try to decide if i should reach out to Chris Jones or not.

Thank you all.

Hey,

Ask Chris to inform you about the situation. Don't worry about it. It's your right to follow up with them and that's part of their job to revert back.

Best of luck.

Hey guys, does a gap of 5-6 months in resume affect the chances of admission for a person with around 4 year work ex?

I had more than a year gap and still got the admit. A gap is not an issue as long as you can explain the reason.

If you don’t mind sharing, what were the reasons you mentioned for the same? And was there any optional essay type where you could mention it or is it during the time of interview?

I had 4 year long overseas experience, was away from my family for a long time and took a year off before my next overseas journey in Canada. Everything happened in the interview.

Hey guys, I am preparing my application for Rotman and some other schools. Would you say an admission consultant is a must? If yes, maybe perhaps you can name some that resonates with my Indian IT background.

believerinthy Needing an admissions consultant or not depends on how much help you need on your application. Check some of the following resources to evaluate your chances.

Whether or not you go for one, it is very important to gather inputs and seek feedback first on the thought process from your friends, colleagues, etc. Then, once again after you put everything together. The former because we sometimes tend to underplay our achievements, traits and potential. The latter, because you need to get that first impression, put yourself in the shoes of the adcom.
