Hi
ahasd70,
Thank you for sharing your profile. Your profile looks good on the surface. Staring with stats, your undergrad GPA is good and exhibiting your academic potential. The different courses you have done will add great weight to your academic profile. I suggest you target a GMAT score of 730+ to be on the safer ground.
On the work front, your work experience seems qualitative and the highlight of your profile. You have displayed constant progression in your career which is very attractive from the point of view of the admission committees. B-schools are very much concerned about the quality of work experience. Thus, try to highlight how certain projects and your international project changed your perspective or made you a better leader.
Your involvement in different committees in your current organization is fine, you must be able to bring impactful stories from it. All I am saying is, when you write your apps, keep in mind that you have to bring a real person into the apps, a vibrating, interesting personality. You may want to read the article on
Role of Extracurricular activities in your MBA application to get some better insights.
Booth is a great pick when it comes to consulting. If you are open to suggestions, you can add INSEAD and HEC as well.
How are my chances for top 20 B schools?
I feel you have a good shot. What matters is connecting the dots and explaining your profile impactfully. But make sure you tailor your essays according to the values of the particular b-school you are applying to. Also, include how a particular b-school will help you fill the gaps in your profile and achieve your goals.
Do I fall in the overrepresented pool?
Nationality and post-MBA goals wise YES and education-wise NO. What you can do in this case, get a high GMAT score and have well-defined career goals, both short and long-term and articulate them in essays and applications. Be clear on your career objectives and why you believe an MBA program can help you accomplish both short-term and long-term objectives.
Does my undergrad and postgrad schools not being tier 1 hurt my application?
The reputation of your undergrad college can be icing on the cake if it is part of the elite chain of IITs or NITs, but trust me, it will not reduce your chances of selection if it is not from the above list. What is more important, though, is how is your performance in college (Tier 1 or not).
I hope you are satisfied with my answers. Overall you have a good profile. If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week or when you are ready with your GMAT to discuss your profile in length and your further chances to b-school. Feel free to
book a free session with us as per your convenience.
Let’s maximize your chances in Round 1 for fall intakeCheers!
