Hi,

Sure I will write my preparation debrief soon.. It is long journey of hope, despair and finally much awaited success. Started with 500 to 730, and last 750. Each attempt gave me some lesson and motivated to come back with even more force. 😊

Be motivated in this long tiresome journey.

May the force be with you.

Although this question is impossible to answer accurately, I'll still take a dig at it and share some latest updates. The average GMAT/GRE of the current batch (PGPX 2021-22) is 701/323 (reference is the official website) which is higher than that of the previous batch. You can expect that this will either remain the same or go up next yearas more and more people have been optimizing their prep due to the prolonged WFH situation (obviously doesn't apply to all). Median scores are not published officially by IIMA, and thus I will not rely on the source from where you got this information.

To be on a safer side, it is always recommended to have a 700+ score. But this is not a universal funda and it varies from person to person based on their profile. People have got calls with a 640 GMAT and have got rejected with a 750 GMAT.

I will not be able to judge if your GMAT score is "Ok to apply with" unless I know a little about your background. Thus, I would request you to either make the best out of this initiative (link given below) or reach out to some Consultant to have your profile evaluated.

You should target the best B-schools buddy ! Your profile sounds interesting. Since you have posted this in the IIMA PGPX thread, I suggest that you focus on building a strong application and apply in R1. However, I also recommend that you apply to other Indian B-schools such as IIMB, IIMC, ISB, IIMI, and IIML. There will be plenty of options outside India as well. However, I’m unable to share any other detailed suggestions without knowing a little more about you.

Please feel free to PM me and I can connect you to the right folks (PGPX students/alums) who have a profile similar to that of yours.

Apologies! Totally forgot about that. As rightly pointed out, IIMC is out because of this reason.

Sure, please PM me on GMAT Club and we can have a chat.

They have not released the admission schedule for one year MBA yet. Due to pandemic, alot of changes have been happening in the admission process across the bschools. I believe, you should once check with the college directly and get an idea on the same.

All the very best.

I have a question for all the 700 or high 600's scorers who are a part of this thread and have taken the GMAT Online. Would you be so kind to clarify whether the notion of quant being 'harder' in the online version of the exam is true. It would be helpful if you could base your reasoning along below lines:

1. When we say hard, can we quantify it to have a sense as to how much 'hard' or 'harder' are we talking about.
2. Generally, the test center based exam will start with medium level questions. Was this the case with the online version as well?

Planning to take the online version, but quite skeptical about it because of aforementioned reasons.

Thanks for the help!

PS: Pardon for the post not being related to IIM A PGPX '22 intake, although I am a fellow aspirant of the same.

I had taken my exam online and offline - my verbal was exactly the same both times. Online exams has other factors playing in it imo.

So, I do not think that there is a difference here.
