I have done well at everything I have ever done so she finds it hard to believe that I can't just walk in and say," I am here, let me in." ...and be let in..... I imagine that the majority of applicants are achievers....reality and negativity are two different issues. Reality is good...

Why not start them early? If they know, they might as well. BTW, they didn't say by how much but they did say that this year was "especially competitive". Wonder if they had a volume bump too.
