Jagan212, would not be a concern if your goal is clear, application is crisp and if you are able to channel your thoughts clearly to the interviewing panel. One more thing- Focus on a couple of key things that you can bring to the cohort. Things that make you unique and stand out.

Hi, I am planning to apply to EPGP 2022 Intake. At present I have around 11 yrs and 10 months of experience, but by the time I apply it would be 12 yrs. I want to understand whether my candidacy would be considered, because I heard from my friend that IIMB EPGP are reluctant to admit candidates above 10 yrs of experience.

Very few candidates get in at 10+years of experience. However, do take your chance while also applying to other colleges.

Understood. Thank you for the heads up!

Yes. Based on previous trends and current class, there aren’t more than 2-3 folks with 10+ years of experience. The highest one is ~15yrs. Majority of the class is 7-9 years. Hence, getting through would be a big challenge.

Thanks for sharing the trend.

Is it because very few apply? Or the selection is at odds due to high WE?

selection is at odds .. last yr in R2 people above 8 or 9 yrs were not even shortlisted for interview whereas they got interview call from both A & C ..

Iim B clearly says that they prefer candidates with work exp of 5 to 12.... Over the last few years, they have taken a few candidates with 10+ yrs of experience, but as I said it’s aleays FEW. And no, it’s not related to number of applications 👍

This is a big assumption, I would say. IIM B does not discriminate basis the Work ex. There is definitely a selection criterion, but everything else is a no bar for qualification if you are a worthy candidate. Worthy definition:- (Exceptional profile, diversity, and your prospective contribution to the cohort (Uniqueness))

I individually felt a work ex./diversity based bias at IIM A interview, last year, but cannot deduce much, basis my assumption.

For IIM B, I am pretty sure they look at an individual profile, holistically, without any prejudice.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Can anyone throw some light on the reservation and its implications. As I understand, epgp is the only 1 Yr program in India providing reservation(St, SC, nc obc). Does Any1 has any idea, how much impact it has, how many seats reserved under it, and above all, does it even have any influence if one happens to apply using it.

Reservation? I think after gaining so much experience and wisdom, anyone still needs reservation to enter for the executive MBA program?

I understand where you are coming from but what is the harm in improving one's odd of getting admitted, if he/she is eligible given the criteria is in place.

It will be far better if you increase your chances by improving your GMAT score, overall profile these are more benificial than worrying about reservation.

Thank you for the advice, but that still does not answer my initial question. Hopefully someone in the thread can answer that.

Information related to one’s category is indeed collected during the application process at EPGP but I honestly do not believe that it is used in evaluation. If that was the case, the institute would have declared it (just like it has for its 2 year PGP programme).

Since there is no public declaration available on this info, it is impossible to answer what you have asked accurately!
