Thank you Charles!!!
I find it fairly strange that the biggest priority is ESR and multiple test attempts are so vaguely positioned…. I guess I am not a fan of ESR…. But what use is an ESR if I have no attempts left?
Yeah, I wasn't all that happy with the response about the number of attempts. My hunch is that the decisions about lifetime limits are made primarily with test security in mind, and might be made exclusively by the folks who handle test data and security. And none of the psychometricians or test security experts were present at the summit, sadly.
Maybe they were just being cagey about the lifetime limits, but my hunch is that the GMAC people who presented at the summit just don't know much about the testing limits. I could be wrong, though.

Question 2: if the ESR is on top of the list, does that mean they actually have a list of more than one thing? What else are they working on?
Good question. I'll look back through the slides once they're available, but I don't remember many noteworthy specifics. They mentioned that they're trying to reduce the time that you have to wait for your official score report when you take the online GMAT -- it's currently seven days, and they'd like to push that downwards (if I'm not mistaken, it takes an average of five days when you take the GMAT in a test center).
They're clearly proud of the fact that the online GMAT now more closely resembles the "normal" GMAT (breaks, AWA, etc.). All of that presumably took quite a bit of work, and is a step in the right direction for test-takers.
Other than that, I didn't get the feeling that they had a formal list of interesting things they're working on. I think it was just a figure of speech that the ESR was at the "top of the list" of improvements they'd like to make to the online GMAT.
