Not recently, no. I took the GMAT at GATS in 2019 and my overall experience was positive. Staff were professional and their computer equipment seemed to be well maintained. The staff will give you earplugs if you ask.
Considering the current pandemic situation, you will likely have the place to yourself.
Do let us know how it goes.
Just remember a couple of points:
1) Don't forget to take your passport. AADHAR is only valid for the online version. If you forget to take the passport, the guys at the test centre will not let you write the test. Don't think you will get a refund either. Trust me, I know.
2) Try to visit the test centre a day in advance so you don't have any trouble locating it on the day of the test.
3) On the day of the test, try to reach a bit early (~30 mins before), but not too early especially if you have scheduled the test early in the morning. In my case, I had reached an hour before and I had to wait outside their office for half an hour. Then I had to wait inside for another 30 minutes.
Thank you so much for your detailed answer to the question. I will share my experience after I give my test there.
