Hi Guys,
I would like a profile evaluation for the IIM A PGPX program and the IIM B EPGP program.

- Age: 30
- Nationality: Indian
- Educational Qualifications
- B.E Mechanical Engineering (Mumbai University - 67% overall)
- M. Sc - Deepwater / Subsea Engineering (University of Houston - 3.67 / 4 GPA)

- Certifications
- Project Management (Specialization Course - Online)- University of Leeds
- Technical Specialist Course ( Numerical Methods in Engineering FEA /CFD - Technical University of Madrid, in conjunction with Ansys)

- GMAT: 710

Work Experience:
- 2 years as a Mechanical Design Engineer ( System Development for Nuclear Submarines for the Indian Navy) - Larsen & Toubro - Mumbai, India
- 2 years as a Mechanical Design Engineer / Analyst ( Worked in a engineering consulting firm providing FEA / CFD design solutions for industries like aerospace, oil and gas, biomedical devices/ applications) - Houston , TX, USA
- 2 years as a Mechanical Engineer 2 (Subsea Products Lifecycle) ( Worked as an engineer for developing, manufacturing and maintaining offshore oil and gas equipment - lead a team of 3 technicians - shop floor and offshore installations) - Houston, TX USA / Offshore Installations
- Back in Mumbai and working with a private defense contractor in developing systems for offshore installations (ships, submarines) - Working as the design engineering team lead as a Senior Engineer - Lead - since March 2021 - leading a team of 3 engineers and 3 draughtsmen)

PGDM - From a Not very reputed B School - Poor Grades - 4.2/8
Work-Ex after PGDM - 8 Years in Administration. Worked as Bursar of an International School for 5 Years. Currently working for an University.

Appearing for GMAT in September 2021 - Target Score - 730+

Do I stand chance for interview call & then an Admit. Or they won't look at me considering my Age & having already done PGDM once.

Hi!

Yes, you do stand a chance to get interview calls and even admits. Target around 690+ in GMAT.
There are candidates every year in these schools who are pursuing MBA for the second time; however you should be able to explain why you need another MBA now.

A lot depends on your profile, how you can connect your life story till now and the clarity you have on why you need another MBA and your goals after that. Your learnings from your past experiences and how you differentiate yourself from others is also key.
Do note that IIM B prefers candidates with less than 12 years of experience (as stated on their website).

*3 years as a Maintenance engineer in a reputed Oil and gas company in India ( with short term international experience)
*1 year as a Inventory Manager and active role in major business transformation of inventory management for the organization

*2 years as Management consultant working on projects for Australian and American clients, but I was based in India

I am planning to reappear for GMAT in Sep with a target of 710+.
Could you please look into my profile and suggest what are my chances of getting an interview and converting call into admit.
Can you also suggest what would be good score to ensure that I receive interview calls from the schools of my interest.

Bachelors of Commerce- a not so well known college affiliated to Osmania University- 79%
Professional Qualification- CMA
Work experience: over 5 years(No International experience- I know this will be a disadvantage for me)
1.Big 4(Accounting Team)- 2 years 4 months
2.In an Asset management company which is not in the bulge bracket(more of a custodian bank)- 1 year 8 months(accounting team)
3. A bulge bracket investment banking company - 1 year 6 months and still counting as I work here currently(accounting team)
More details on work experience:
- In my first company, I used to work in the accounting team that used to give backend accounting support to the consultants/advisors who are at different locations.
- In my second and third(current) company I work on the accounting side of Hedge Fund and Private Equity Investments. We work closely with the client facing teams in the US and co-ordinate with other teams in Prime Brokerage, Analytics, Valuation etc.
GMAT: I am planning to take it by the end of this year/January 2022, I am planning to apply in the next year.
Reason to do an executive MBA: During my stint at my last 2 companies, I discovered that there are lot of teams in my industry(you can call it BFSI/Investment Management) which actually do more exciting stuff and handle things at a higher level. A degree in Management will definitely help me become a better candidate to get into one of those roles.
Target Industry: BFSI, Consulting
Extra-curricular and Co-curricular: My biggest worry, I have nothing. I am trying to find out as much as I can and hopefully I'll at least have one by the end of this year.
I am confining myself to colleges in India as a lot of colleges abroad reject applicants with a three year degree.
I know it is too ambitious for me to aim for A, B and C as I don't have flashy things on my resume like international work ex, a brand name like IIT/NIT/SRCC and exceptional achievements. So, I am more keen on IIML and IIMI. I would really appreciate if someone shares a very realistic evaluation.
Also, what should be my target GMAT score?
