Some graduate business schools state that taking the GMAT as a part of the application process is optional. Should you take the GMAT even though it is not a requirement? On this episode of Inside the GMAT, Imran Kanga from Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, Bruce Delmonico from Yale School of Management, and Jessica Krom from Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University all join the show to explain how schools use the GMAT for admissions, and the benefits of taking the GMAT even if you don’t have to.

Would being able to have more than 1 Retake potentially be a benefit of taking the GMAT? Any news on ability to expand GMAT online testing to more attempts?

There are also benefits to preparing for the GMAT, such as improvement in comfort with using math, improved writing skills, and improved analytical and critical reasoning skills.
