I still have 2 months of waiting to do before getting any final decisions and I'm already completely uniterested. A few months ago, going back to school was the furthest thing from my mind, now however, I'm genuinely excited to go back. Although I used to love my job, I feel so detached now that I don't think I can continue in it even if I don't end up getting any admits.

Basically, in 2 months time, I may find myself switching from applying to B-school to applying for new employment.

Motivation? Work? What is that?

rhyme, I think you have a great problem to contend with. IMO, can't go wrong with either school.

even though I am R2 applicant for all my schools and hence about 3 months away from any decisions, I have already drafted my 'Adios Amigos' email.

Cant wait to push the send button on that sucker!

Oh man, I can totally relate with you guys. With my Ross admit, I can't wait to leave work!

But, I'm in charge of a very crucial (for our client) project. My managers have a lot in stake with this, and they have given me a lot of trust and freedom in this project. Plus they wrote my recs for 6 schools!

So, for me to just be like See ya would be totally not cool on my part. Hopefully, by March or April the project will be stable enough so I can leave. Thats my plan for now...

Rhyme, I think you just gotta do "what your heart tells you".
You can't compare each little detail like that... just absorb all the info and go with your gut.

I hope you choose Chicago cuz that is my #1 choice also. But then maybe I should hope you don't choose Chicago so there is 1 more spot for me in R2.

Btw, I just got my first admit this afternoon. My backup school in Toronto - Rotman. woohoo. feels great. But they want a $2500 deposit within a month :( I doubt i will hear from any US schools by that time.... ****

My gut is no help. My gut tells me GSB may be a better overall education but my gut tells me I'd probably enjoy Kellogg more. Those are two very conflicting things.

730 GMAT, ~3.0 GPA, ~6 years WE, mix of psuedo IT consulting (not developer, or tester or anything like that), and consulting in the financial services industry.

My work has a firewall from hell, so I bring in my personal laptop, plug in my blackberry, and connect via it to browse. I bring up my email on my work's desktop screen, and periodically when the screensaver kicks in, I move my mouse. Other than that I spend my time browsing this site, checking Businessweek, chatting with some people on yahoo, and reading digg.com.

Me too.
Well, any other good sites or forum to search?
The problem is that I should also be doing my essays for Columbia... I'm kind of worried with LBS, it is my top school and I think I should have given it a bigger effort...
I will probably still apply to at least Columbia and Berkeley...
...and if I don't see any of these going my way, a few in the last round. Who cares, money is just that, money, isn't it? And another year doing my job will be painfull and won't help a little bit my chances to get into an MBA...

although I like my job, this whole application process made me realize how young and relatively inexperienced I am and I should get out there and not be afraid to try new things, whether it's work related or things that I've always wanted to do, but never had enough determination or drive to start
