Hi banker08,

You mentioned some of these issues in another post (here: https://gmatclub.com/forum/730-or-nothing-369598.html), but you have not provided many details about how you've been studying thus far - and that information is important in determining how you might best proceed with your studies.

To answer your question here though: YES - the amount of sleep, the 'time' that you sleep, etc. can significantly impact your performance on a standardized Test. There are also a variety of other factors that can impact your performance, including how well-rested you were when you took the CAT, the time of day that you took it, the section-order, the testing environment, etc. In addition, from what you mentioned in that other post, it sounds as though you might be trying to "cram" for the GMAT - and that type of approach rarely leads to great results.

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) Over the last 2 months, how many hours did you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to and what specific application deadlines are you facing?

Hi banker08,

Successfully studying for the GMAT takes a lot of time and energy, so if you are not sleeping well or sleeping at odd hours it certainly could have an impact on your ability to improve your GMAT quant and verbal skills. I'm happy to provide some additional guidance but first I'd like to learn more about your situation with the GMAT. Once you respond to the questions already asked, I can provide some advice.

Hey experts, thank you for your responses. Following are the answers to your questions. Kindly guide

1) During the first month, I studied for 3 hours daily and on the second, 5-6 hours daily. Now, since this is my third month, I'm studying for 6-7 hours daily as the application deadlines are nearby.

2) I've been using Magoosh premium since the start. Apart from this, I've been practising questions from OG and gmatclub forum.

3) 1st mock, exactly 2 months ago - Magoosh - score470(q31v24)
2nd mock, after 10 days - Magoosh - score490(q35v22)
3rd mock, 16days after second mock - Manhattan prep - score540(q38v26)
4th mock, 12days after previous - Official mock - score610(q46v28)
5th mock, 10days after previous - official mock - score610(q45v28)
6th mock, 8days after previous - Kaplan mock - score630(q47v30)

4) I'm applying to the following schools for MIM :
1. Hec Paris - R1 deadline(Oct 19th)
2. Essec - R1 deadline(Oct 19th)
3. LBS - R2 deadline( Nov 1st)

Thank you

Your quant score has been increasing, but your verbal score hasn't been, at least not as much as your quant score. Your situation is actually pretty common because, for a variety of reasons, people often don't prepare for GMAT verbal effectively.

To get better results from your verbal prep, you could read this post to get some insights into how you could prepare more effectively.
