No call from sloan on the forum!!

Guess a lot of us 've busted bigtime some 230$ and oh my god!! all those hours into preparing those 4 crazy essays and a cover letter..

12 days to go and i dont see anything big happening.. more so for indians coz as per BW/ pagalguy and our forum, none of em've'd an interview call yet. Either MIT has ditched indians altogether or the few lucky souls that've been interviewed are not active members of any of these forums!!

and the wait continues..

it is kind of surprising that none of the Indians received an interview call for R1....maybe they are going to interview some with R2 people (yike!)...maybe they already have the Indians they want...lots of possibilities...no answers...and long long 12 days!

Chances after interview [#permalink]
Does anyone know what your chances of getting into MIT are after the interview? More specifically. Do they evaluate your whole app again after the interview process or is it a gate? If it is a gate it would mean that a yes from your interviewer meant an admit.

I'd say that after interviewing, your chances are like 50 / 50.

Interviews arent, typically, a gate. It's just one more piece of information and the app is reviewed by commitee afterwards. I'd venture your odds are a bit lower than 50/50, maybe 40/60, but a MIT interview is a good sign any way you cut it.

According to MIT itself your app has reached a high level of consideration if you get an interview... It is a very good sign. I think this is probably particularly true for MIT given that all their interviews are by adcom and they will travel anywhere in the world to interview a student... an incredibly sizable commitment of resources.

I agree with Mark4124. An adcom came from Sloan to give a presentation to junior employees of our company and said, "If we bring you in for an interview, we're very seriously considering your application. Unless you blow the interview, you have a great chance of getting in."

I'm not sure what how "blowing the interview" is defined, but he made it obvious that interviews are a very good predictor of an admissions offer...more so than at many of the other top schools.

Decision ready? [#permalink]
Has anyone received his/her decision yet? I checked the Apply Yourself site and it's the usual status (complete and under review).

Same for me, I was not interviewed. However, since it's decision day today, I was hoping we would get the confirmation or something. And get some feedback from the lucky few who have been interviewed.

I want my ding! [#permalink]
I know I'm dinged (not interviewed) but still, I'd like them to keep to their deadline promise.

Phone calls for admitted candidates and e-mails for dinged ones? Will that be the format?

I dont think they will email, only update the account after 5pm. No interview for me, so that means ding as well :(
