Hi
vladThe!
This is Kate from
mbaMission, thanks for reaching out to us. Sorry to hear you're not cracking your desired GMAT score. I do think it's worth considering switching to the GRE. I would try a practice exam and see how you do. Some find the vocab on the GRE to be harder, FYI.
Many more applicants are applying with GRE scores so you'll find that most schools now report their average GRE scores. Check out the program's class profile to see if they publish those numbers. But in general, I'd say you'd want to target at least a 162 on both quant and verbal (324 total). M7 programs have averages in the 325-330 range.
In terms of which schools to target, I'm confused whether you're targeting PM roles or MBB? If MBB, I would also look at Ross, Emory, Tuck, Stern, Georgetown. If PM, I would also look at Foster, Tepper, UCLA, Texas, or maybe Kellogg's new MBAi program.
Hope that helps!
Kate

Hello!
Brief summary:
I come from one of the over-represented pool of applicants, Indian Male IT (Yes, the holy trinity
)
Best GMAT: 720 (Q 50 V 39)
Work Ex: 4 years as FAANG Engineer
Undergrad : BITS Pilani (Top 10 in the country)
Extra-curricular: Average (1 year of volunteer work)
Post-Mba goals: PM at tech firm
Now, I have given GMAT multiple times. However, I scored the same in almost all my attempts.
I was scoring between 730-760 in official mocks during my initial attempts and 760-780 in the official mocks (though I scored 780 only once) while preparing for my latest attempt. However, I failed to score higher than 720 in the actual GMAT (this is the score from my first attempt
).
My target colleges are M7s.
For R1 this year, I had applied to Duke, Darden and Fuqua, along with 1 M7 but was dinged from all of them. I had hired a consultant, so I'm assuming my essays were fine.
So, I was considering giving GRE instead. There is not a lot of information available for GRE online. It would be highly appreciative if you could help me with following queries:
1. Being from over-represented category, is GRE ideal for me?
2. What would be a safe GRE score for me? (or range)
My Actual Criteria for schools: I'm looking at schools that will give me decent shot for MBB recruitment. If you have any advise for achieving this goal, same would be highly appreciated
Thanks and Regards
