Congrats! I guess Wharton likes people to have high GMAT. Is Wharton XYZ as you described in another post? Thanks.

"a faculty from XYZ (one that i specifically mentioned in my SOP) surprisingly (i.e. not scheduled) called me today for a brief chat over the phone. we talked about the regular stuff... why phd, why OB, why now,why XYZ + i had to explain my unique and unconventional career path and choices. she was very familiar with my application material. "

wharton was indeed XYZ as i already mentioned later in that thread...

while i'm not sure if GMAT score did the trick (i think other parts of my application are as strong as my gmat), i think it did play a role in differentiating my applications from others...

i posted it long time ago... here is a brief summary -

36y/o israeli male. B.Sc. math (93/100), M.A. musicology (95/100)
780 gmat (51q/45v) , toefl ibt 107. about 6 years WE in the IT industry of which 4 as a manager. some research and some university-level teaching experience.

hobbit, we are potential colleagues! I received today the "good" news from wharton phd coordinator (management)..... now waiting for the other answers....but 99% I'll choose philly!!!!

32y/o italian male about 6 years research/teaching in Bocconi University. (five publications).

I don't know about the visit.....I visited the campus and met some faculties last november....

did you plan to go?
