It’s an interesting dilemma. The cost difference that you calculated, is that a scholarship or does that also include cost of living? I can see how DC would be more expensive than Atlanta….

Do you have a strong undergraduate brand? Or a strong employer brand that is well recognized and will help you standout? If yes, then there’s probably not too much of a difference but if you don’t have strong employer or undergrad brands (which would help you to stand out and recruit at Emory), going to Georgetown would make more sense.

Consulting recruiting is pretty structured in business school so it’s not so much about networking off campus. That never hurts but the consulting recruiting is a defined process. My guess a lot of the consulting recruiting goes into government consulting in DC which requires security clearance or US citizenship which is good for you.

What did you hear from the students at Georgetown about consulting recruiting?

Thank you. I was wondering about the gov consulting. Thanks for clarifying that.

By the way, GT probably places more people into consulting than Emory but fewer as a % of the class since the class is bigger.

I wonder if abhimahna or Gnpth have some comments.


PS. Your living expenses will add another 5-10/year being in DC vs Atlanta.

At the same time being in the northeast, why move and then come back.

Have you spent any time in the South or Atlanta by the way? Some of the things bugged me there such as private clubs and other membership places so I knew it was not my cup of tea… but others love the Southern hospitality and style.
