Hi
Mategregmatmate,
Thanks for sharing your profile. First, I would like to say you did well, backing a decent score on your GRE; that's quite great. For your low quant score, try to highlight solving problems using quantitative data and showing good judgment skills in your application. This will help you compensate for your low quant score. However, if you have time and energy to prepare and get a good score till you apply you can retake your exam.
Coming to your profile, a strong overall academic profile is a prerequisite for top B-schools like HBS, Stanford, and INSEAD Furthermore, you should understand that
HBS, Stanford and schools like INSEAD are no short of stellar academic profiles hence, you need to bank upon your work experience, ECAs, community services & volunteering experiences to characterize you as someone who is an innovative thinker who had demonstrated leadership and analytical skills and is passionate enough to make a difference in the world. These are the most basic values that top Schools look for in a successful candidate.
At this point, your profile is too brief. However, I would still suggest applying in early rounds as it could definitely increase your chances of securing a spot. hence, for your reference, I suggest you read
How to strengthen your MBA application for Round 1 MBA you will get some beneficial insights.
I would like to know more about your profile, work experience, promotions, impact certifications, etc., as we consider your candidacy for your target school programs. Also, I suggest you add a few more reach schools to your list as schools like Stanford &HBS can be a stretch for anyone. If you'd like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and further chances to the business school. Feel free to

I have the following GRE score:
- VR 170
- Qr 163
- AW 5
I sat this test in November 2017, but due to circumstances I decided not to proceed with mba at that time.
I now have a stronger application with experience working across different geographies within a global business, including introducing new products delivering 8 figure turnover.
I’m looking at an mba as a career accelerator, allowing me to enter more general management positions (vs. Specialist).
Target schools include:
- Harvard
- Stanford
- insead
- LBS
- Judge (Cambridge)
Probably in that order of preference. I will likely add others as aware these are all a stretch. My question is whether it’s worthwhile redoing the prep to get a better score (either for gmat or gre). As my score is lower on QR I’m concerned gmat isn’t a good choice.
This is a decision I need to take soon given the 5 year limit on my score coming this November.
Thank you!
