Just found out that I'm in at G'town with $5k schol (so tuition around $35k). Already been admitted to MD with GA position which brings the tuition down to $20k per year there.

Deposit to MD is due tomorrow. What would you do?

GA = Graduate Assistantship which means I'd have to work 180 hrs per semester for the University.

First off, congrats on the admit!!!

Do you know what you want to do after b-school? If so, focus on the companies you would be interested in working for, and then see which ones come to campus and/or hire MBAs from that school. If you don't know what you want to do after school, I would play it safe and go for the higher ranked school which appears to be McDonough.

If the "international" aspect is a big deal to you, then go with Gtown..hands down..if not than it's a toss up - based on rankings of course. But really it all dpends on what companies recruit at the respective schools..whichever one meets your needs more - go wit hthat school.

I can make a case for both schools. I want to do marketing (marketing strategy or brand management) after I graduate and I am interested in the international aspects (I'm Swedish). But at the same time I have an engineering background which fits well in with the high-tech focus at Smith.

It's a tough decision, but I think you need to just eliminate the money from the equation, and although a GA is a nice offer, everyoen I've talked to at schools made it sound like having a job and pursuing an MBA while also recruiting would be impossible.

Hey Xeo78. Where have you decided to go.

I am in a sort of similar situation b/w Georgetown and Kelley. I have $20K per year at G'town.

Thinking of where to go. Any pointers from anyone.

I've decided on G'town. Attended the open house this past weekend and truly loved it. Have you visited both places? Where do you want to end up after graduation?

Unfortunately I have not been able to visit any of these places since I am an international student.

I ideally want to work in strategy group of a consulting firm. As a backup option, I am also open to pursuing a career in Finance on the sell side( IB or S&T).

Kelley's offer is very tempting with a full tuition waiver. Georgetown has given lesser money , but I am wondering whether it will be better than Kelley for MC and IB.

I have no issues with working post MBA in either Chicago ( Likely after Kelley) or NYC ( likely after Georgetown).

Any suggestions would be helpful.
