Hi adi33,

INSEAD doesn't have a requirement in terms of minimum years of work experience and always stresses that quality is more important than length.

That being said, a minimum of 2 years of work experience by the time the program starts is encouraged.

You can take a look at the INSEAD MBA'22D Class Profile here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/insead-mba-2 ... 79477.html

You'll see that the average is around 5.5 years and the range goes from 3 to 8 years.

If you currently have 2 years of work experience, by the time the program starts, you'll likely have over 3 years, so you'll be within the range.

I have worked with plenty of applicants who were successfully admitted to INSEAD with 2-3 years of work experience, so if you put together a strong application and have a competitive GMAT score, I don't see why you shouldn't give it a shot.

Just keep in mind that INSEAD is not very re-applicant friendly, so apply when you feel you're most ready.

I hope this helps.

Warm regards
Alex

Hi All,

Real quick one- How much work ex is required to apply for INSEAD MBA? Does work ex hold a huge value in admission? I come from 2 years of experience and targeting Europe B schools. Kindly let me know if I should give it a shot.

Hi ARLeeConsulting

Thanks for the detailed insight. It confirms a lot of what was going on in my head. And yes i do understand that this is quite normal in general.
Ive been mindful to be appreciative and polite and definitely not pushy. I understand that being pushy would be detrimental.

The follow ups are always with an intention to pass on information in a developing situation. So yeah, have one interview for now which I am focussing on, and can only hope the second one comes through soon.

Thanks again for the tips

It will, I'm sure. I had trouble with my second interview too, in which my interviewer rescheduled twice, and then stopped responding to emails. I reached out to my admissions officer, who then assigned me to a different interviewer. I received my R2 admit last month.

hi Swagata06,
Been a crazy couple of days. First interview on Friday went off decently. Managed to get in touch with second interviewer on saturday and he scheduled for sunday so had to travel immediately to make it happen. Was a much much tougher interview, not quite sure how I fared to be honest. But atleast it was done. now begins the wait for final decision. thanks for all your tips and insights

jatin22
thankfully it didnt come to that. did manage to get an interview slot and was able to make it happen quickly!

R4 is on rolling basis, so no knowing when i might hear back from them now I guess. does anyone know if admissions committee evaluates on a fixed schedule? like once every 4 weeks or something?

Does anyone have an idea when applicants are likely to hear back for R3 applications? Will it be close to the deadline (August 19th) or is there a chance you can hear earlier?
Thanks!

mfred22 Raghojiwar i was in need for an early decision and what i have found out is this:

post interviews there is a final evaluation
this final evaluation is most likely done when all the interview reports are in, applicants have to be evaluated against one another
deadline for reports is tomorrow
so putting this together unlikely to hear anything till this time next week, but from then on to 19th everyone will hear back one way or the other

hope this helps

Can somebody answer this?

My question: Out of 2 interviews, 1 went well and the other 1 went normal(I couldn’t read his emotion)

For INSEAD interview, do all 2 interviewers must say yes to pass?

i.e. what happens if 1 interviewer says "yes" to the school, and 1 interviewer says "no"

Hi yhk3887,

the short answer to your first question is: no, both interviewers don't need to say "yes" for a candidate to get accepted.

The short answer to your second question is: it depends.

It is always up to the AdCom to decide. And it's not as black and white as "yes" or "no". First, for the overall rating, interviewers have to select 1 out of 5 options, so there is some granularity.

Second, interviewers must submit a full report where they have to type the answers to many questions. In my personal experience as an interviewer, my reports have always been 4-5 pages long.

So, the AdCom has a lot more information to assess a candidate than a simple "yes" or "no". So, even if an interviewer has selected a negative overall rating, the AdCom will still read the entire interview report and judge by themselves whether the negative rating is justified.

I hope this clarifies a bit.

Good luck!

Warm regards
Alex
