MBA & EMBA APPLICATION GUIDE: Recommendations - Write Your Own LOR [#permalink]
Hi Guys,

Leah Derus, MIT Sloan MBA and admissions consultant here from resumeSTORY.builders (formerly fxmbaconsulting). I'm posting to let the GMATClub community know about a new three-part series of books I'm rolling out called MBA & EMBA APPLICATION GUIDE. The first book in the series covers MBA & EMBA recommendations, book #2 will contain story-based MBA resume examples, and book #3 will contain statement of purpose/why MBA type essay example). This post is about the recommendation guide.

Book: MBA & EMBA APPLICATION GUIDE: Recommendations - Write Your Own Professional Letter of Recommendation with 25+ Examples

The guide is written for MBA and EMBA applicants whose recommenders ask them to either a) write their own recommendation or b) create a recommendation outline (a.k.a. talking points) for their recommender. It contains 25+ full MBA and EMBA recommendations, several examples of what a recommendation outline (a.k.a. talking points) look like, and a simple method for structuring and generating content for your own recommendations.

It's 115 pages of quality material that offers ample recommendation examples for you to draw on (unlike other books and guides on the market which offer 'advice' but no concrete examples). PDF excerpt available here: resumestory.builders/wp-content/uploads/Excerpt-from-the-book-MBA-and-EMBA-APPLICATION-GUIDE-Recommendations.pdf

Learn more about it here: resumestory.builders/books/book-mba-emba-application-guide-recommendations/
Get your PDF copy of the book for $36 US here: resumestory.builders/services/book-mba-emba-application-guide-recommendations-write-professional-letter-of-recommendation-25-examples/
or
Get the book in print for $38 at Barnes & Noble
or in print for $40 on Amazon
It's also available on Kobo as an ePub

MBA/MPP Application Consultants [#permalink]
Has anyone here applied to the joint degree with application consultants? If so, which ones? I was considering Stratus and they are good for MBA but they might not have MPP/MPA capabilities and seems they could be charging me extra for this. Ideally I’d want somewhere comprehensive. Any advice from applicants would be greatly appreciated.

My team at Admissionado works on joint degree applications all the time. In fact, the MBA/MPP at Harvard between the Business School and Kennedy School of Government is one of our specialties.

If you are interested in learning more, why not sign up for a free consultation using the link below? We will gladly pair you up with one of our consultants who works on these exact joint degrees. You have nothing to lose!

Hi Anuj,

There's no "needed" GMAT score for HBS. The application process is multidimensional and is only one part of the process. A lot of it depends on the strength of your profile and your essays. If these are weak, even an 800 won't get you in. But if you have demonstrated all the qualities HBS is looking for, even a 700 might get you in.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to submit the application if LoR hasn’t been submitted yet? My recommenders are likely to submit just before the deadline, but the app from my side is done and it would be a huge relief to just submit!
